Twitter for Bears?

I've been playing around with open source twitter clones, and I said to myself:  Self:  Twitter for bears/cubs/chubs and admirers would be awful neat. 

I'd do it just for fun, so no revenue stream.  There'd be no tech support, obviously.  It would either work or it wouldn't.  I'd probably write a python client to make it easier to use, when I get the time.

Would anyone be interested in such a beast?  Or are there too many twitter clones already?

Twitter is a microblogging service. It lets you blog, but only in 140 characters. You have followers who can read read postings in their twitter feed. Basically, it works out being a lot like mass instant messanging over an extended period of time. For example, my twitter feed is at
