For those who might have been living in or a bubble, or just don't watch, read, or listen to any news, a recap of the past few days events:
Yahoo got into trouble, and they're stock price sank. They laid off 1000 people. Microsoft offered to buy them out for about $31 a share (about $46 Billion all told). Yahoo is considering all offers (and may be working on a deal to outsource their search to Google so they can stay independent). The Flickr people are in an uproar. Yahoo owns Flickr. If Microsoft buys Yahoo, then Microsoft owns Flickr. Nobody on Flickr wants that. A Flickr that only works in IE, and maybe Safari. I don't think so.
So the Flickr people started a group to draw attention. It's called "Microsoft: Keep Your Evil Grubby Hands Off of Our Flickr." People post pictures here, mostly humorous, against Microsoft and the proposed deal. I posted a few pictures myself, and wanted to share them here.
